What Shared Corners is
Shared Corners is a private conversation space where visitors can use an anonymous name, choose a corner, and talk with others who are trying not to drink today. The goal is shared experience, encouragement, and practical conversation.
What Shared Corners is not
Shared Corners is not therapy, counseling, medical advice, detox support, legal advice, emergency care, diagnosis, professional treatment, or a replacement for established recovery programs. Structured programs and professional support can be valuable; Shared Corners is focused on voluntary community conversation and shared experience. Nothing on the site should be treated as instructions from a clinician, attorney, sponsor, crisis worker, or licensed professional.
Emergency and medical safety
If you may hurt yourself, hurt someone else, feel medically unsafe, or may be experiencing dangerous alcohol withdrawal symptoms, use immediate professional support instead of this site. In the United States, call or text 988 for crisis support, or call emergency services if danger is immediate.
Alcohol withdrawal
Stopping alcohol can be medically dangerous for some people. Shaking, seizures, hallucinations, confusion, chest pain, severe vomiting, or other serious symptoms should be handled with medical help. Community chat is not detox care.
Corner Guide
Corner Guide helps visitors navigate Shared Corners and better use the community. It can suggest a corner, offer a warm prompt, and point to immediate-help resources. It is not a human community member, therapist, clinician, sponsor, or emergency responder. Corner Guide may be wrong, incomplete, or unable to understand the full situation.
No guarantees
Shared Corners cannot guarantee that a visitor will stop drinking, avoid harm, receive a response, or receive accurate advice from another visitor. Use your judgment, seek professional help when needed, and do not rely on this site as your only support.
